Day 5

Woke up late. First good sleep since getting in. No dreams, no noise.

Left the flat just before eleven. Took one note with me—€50, marked. Picked a bakery I hadn’t used before. Ordered coffee and bread. Paid cash. The girl didn’t blink. Dropped it in the till, handed me change, moved on. That’s a good sign. Doesn’t prove everything, but it’s a start.

Walked a different route home. That’s one thing I like about Lisbon—there’s always another way to get somewhere, and none of them feel wrong.

Stopped at the electronics shop on the way back. Picked up two burner SIMs. One for now, one for later. No questions.

Cleaned the place again after lunch. Wiped down surfaces, vacuumed corners. When the space is controlled, the work stays clean. That’s always been true.

Ran another set in the afternoon. Ten notes, slow and checked. Used a different paper stack this time—just to feel the difference. Texture’s good. Slight shift in tone, might blend better in lower light. Will test one next week.

Still nothing from Berlin. I’m not waiting. I’m working. He knows how this goes. When it’s done, he gets a message. Until then, silence.

Dinner was plain. Rice and fish. No wine tonight. I want to be sharp tomorrow. Planning a double batch. If it runs clean, I’m halfway.
